Help & FAQs

What is a Welfare Officer?

The Welfare Officer is responsible for creating a safe and inclusive venue for everyone. A club may choose for this role to only focus on safeguarding, or also on Diversity and Inclusion.

The Welfare Officer will be the main point of contact for all children and adults to report concerns and disclosures, handling these calmly and sensitively in line with the club’s safeguarding policy and passing the information on to the LTA Safeguarding Team at the earliest opportunity. If the Safeguarding Team are unavailable, Welfare Officers can contact the NSPCC for advice or contact the police in an emergency.
