What is a Coaching Apprenticeship?

Please note LTA Coaching Apprenticeships have been suspended pending the introduction of a new set of standards for Level 2 and Level 3 apprenticeships. The aim is to re-launch the programmes next year for new starts in September 2019.

A coaching apprenticeship is a great way to get more involved in coaching and develop a career in tennis. As part of the government apprenticeship scheme, coaching apprentices are employed for 30 hours a week, working in a coaching environment and carrying out a variety of coaching roles, including:

  • Coaching
  • Assisting another coach
  • Organising competitions and social events
  • Producing marketing materials
  • Developing and producing a coaching programme

Apprenticeships last a minimum of 12 months.
