We don’t have a junior programme / have no vulnerable adults; do we need to comply with the safeguarding standards?
Safeguarding standards are not solely focused towards safeguarding young people / vulnerable adults. The standards are also aimed at tackling diversity and inclusion issues which are applicable for all tennis venues. All clubs have a moral and legal responsibility to take these standards seriously, even if they are an ‘adults only’ club. These requirements help clubs to put into place minimum processes to not only protect players and participants within their club, but also those that run the facility in case an instance arises – which is equally applicable and important regardless of the size of the venue.
