What is different about these National Academies to what the LTA has done before?
The National Academies will seek to bring a step change in the way British players are developed between the ages of 14-18 in Great Britain. Both National Academies will have rigorous and future focused selection standards meaning only those with the highest potential will be offered a place. In addition, both National Academies will offer world class coaching and cutting edge Science and Medicine services that will ensure a comprehensive and multi-disciplinary programme of player development for those who are selected. Importantly, the LTA is investing in partner operators to deliver this crucial stage of the Player Pathway and both Loughborough and Stirling have been resourced to enable them to deliver the world class, inspiring, pro-style training environments that they outlined in their vision to run a National Academy during the investment application process.
