What if I hold a non-LTA coaching qualification?
In order to operate at an LTA registered venue, being LTA Accredited is mandatory if you hold a non-LTA qualification where the qualification includes 15+ days of on court tutor contact and a formal assessment (comparable to Level 3). A coach will know if they hit this threshold because their certificate within the LTA Coach Secure Area will state “Assess.App”.
If you hold a non-LTA qualification where the qualification does not include 15+ days of on court tutor contact and a formal assessment, then you would not currently need to become Accredited in order to meet this mandatory requirement as your training level is not comparable to that of a Level 3. A coach will know if they fall into this category if their certificate states “Ext.reg eligible” on their certificate. However, whilst not mandatory currently, we strongly recommend being Accredited, especially if your role in the venue extends beyond an assistant coach remit.
